I’ve got a good feeling about 2014!
I don’t think I’d be alone in saying that the last 12-18 months have been very tough in the environmental consulting world. Big projects have dried up and the ones that are around are slashing costs and extending timelines. We haven’t been unaffected and have had to make some changes to our growth plans, but we are still here and will come out of this much stronger than ever. We have streamlined processes, rolled out our new custom built project management software ‘Proman’, and had time to progress some R&D projects from ideas to new products, such as our KITE Weather Intelligence system.
This month has seen a significant shift in opportunities and thankfully quite a few of these have turned into projects. We have some new clients come on board (thanks Oil Search and PSA) and lots of old friends we haven’t heard from in the past few years are coming back. There is a buzz around the office and the team are fired up to deliver Katestone’s trademark high quality work.
Our new weather intelligence system ~ KITE ~ sparked from a glimmer of an idea to help industry make weather dependent decisions easier is now a working online system ready to launch. Early feedback from key clients has been great and we really think we are developing a winner.
This year we are also celebrating 25 years of Katestone. Quite a milestone for any company. Keep an eye out for an invitation to our birthday party!
