Christine Killip selected for the Telstra Business Women’s Awards
Katestone’s Managing Director, Christine Killip, is a Queensland Finalist for the Telstra Business Woman’s Awards. Christine has been recognised in two award categories, the Business owner Award and the Business Innovation Award.
Christine said, “I was excited just to be nominated for the awards but now that I have reached the Finalist for two categories I’m over the moon”.
Trained as an Atmospheric Scientist and becoming Director and owner of the company before her 30th birthday she has worked hard to grow and transform the business into the highly regarded and successful boutique air quality consultancy Katestone is today.
“One of the major hurdles I had to overcome to make the company successful was me. As a scientist I had no formal training in business, and in a small company that means you have multiple hats including financial controller, human resource manager, marketing and sales manager, research and development leader, business strategist and contracts lawyer. I have some great people supporting me both within the company and externally who have all helped guide the company under my leadership. One great piece of advice I was given when I had just started out was, “you don’t have to be an expert in everything“, this not only helped me sleep at night but also helped me create the great team Katestone is today.”
The state winner will be announced at a Gala Dinner on the 17 September. If you would like to show your support for Christine send her a message here: http://finalists.telstrabusinesswomensawards.com
